Your patients' data

What is said in your clinic stays on your phone.

ScribeIn listens, writes the note and stores it on the phone in your hand. There is no cloud copy of a consultation anywhere — not because a policy says so, but because the app is built that way.

Where data goes in ScribeIn Inside the doctor's phone: the voice is recognised, the AI writes a draft, the doctor reviews and signs, and the note is kept in an encrypted vault or exported as a PDF. Outside the phone: ScribeIn's servers in Mumbai receive only the account email and subscription status and send the AI models down once; Razorpay handles payments. Patient voice, names and notes never leave the phone. Plainly, item by item.

Stays on your phone

  • The consultation audio — held in memory only while the session runs, never written to storage, erased when the session ends.
  • Every note and prescription — in an encrypted vault, behind your PIN.
  • Patient details — names, ages, phone numbers, diagnoses, medicines.
  • The audit log — every edit and signature, for your records.
  • Returning-patient lookup (Pro) — a one-way, keyed fingerprint of the phone number, which cannot be turned back into the number.

What reaches us

  • Your account email — to sign you in.
  • Your subscription status — which plan, and whether it is active.
  • Your devices — how many phones use the account, to apply the plan's device limit.

What we never have

  • Any recording, transcript or note.
  • Any patient's name, number or diagnosis.
  • Your card, UPI or bank details.
  • Analytics or crash reports from the app — it has none.

How this fits India's data protection law

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, the doctor or hospital that decides how patient records are kept is responsible for them. Most AI scribes and chat tools send the consultation — audio or text — to servers, often outside India, so the doctor has to trust and account for another company handling patient data.

ScribeIn is designed so that does not arise: the patient's data is processed and kept on your own phone, and never passes through our systems. There is nothing at our end to leak, sell, hand over or train an AI on.

Your records stay under your control: export any or all notes as PDF, delete notes or a patient's notes, and keep them for as long as the National Medical Commission record-keeping norms require. Your own account data is handled as set out in our privacy policy, with a grievance contact who acknowledges within 48 hours.

Your part: as with any record, tell the patient you are using a documentation aid, keep your phone locked, and make a Pro backup file if you want a copy that survives a lost phone. The app asks for the patient's consent at the start of a session.

Questions hospital IT teams ask

Does it need the hospital network?
No. After a one-time download over Wi-Fi, listening and note writing work with no internet — in the OPD, the ward and inside the OT complex.
Which AI does it use?
A speech recogniser and an AI writing model of about 2.3 GB, both running on the phone. No cloud AI service is called, so no third-party AI provider ever sees a consultation.
Is patient data used to train AI?
No. We never receive it, so it cannot be used for training or anything else.
What if a phone is lost?
Notes are encrypted behind the doctor's PIN. Without a backup, they cannot be recovered by anyone — including us. Pro creates passphrase-locked backup files the doctor keeps wherever they choose.
Can a signed note be altered later?
Every signed PDF carries an integrity code, so any later change can be detected. Edits and signatures are recorded in the app's audit log.
